TTB Tamer has just deployed new forms f5130.9 and f5130.26 to match the most recent revisions released by the TTB.
We’re a bit disappointed that information about the changes are not more obvious to find and learn about on the TTB website, but the changes are relatively straightforward.
Summary of Changes
Both forms have been simplified by eliminating the need to report past Excise Tax information and Materials Used.
The biggest change is that form 5130.26 is now titled “Quarterly Brewer’s Report of Operations” and is not just for Brewpubs anymore.
If you paid less than $50,000 in excise taxes last year AND you expect to pay less than $50,000 in excise taxes this year, you have the option of filing Quarterly and the additional option of using the new form 5130.26 (yes, even if you’re classified as a brewery). However, you can still use the older style form 5130.9 to report Quarterly, and you have the additional option of filing Monthly with form 5130.9 even though you meet the $50,000 criteria.
If you don’t meet the $50,000 criteria, you don’t have much in the way of options. You must file Monthly with form 5130.9.
Of course, all of these forms and reporting periods have been baked right into TTB Tamer. Easy Peasy.
